I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of California (Psy24456).
I received my masters (M.A.) and doctorate of psychology (Psy.D) in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
I chose this field in order to help individuals find hope and strength, when it feels difficult. My goal is to help you move to a place of understanding
I have had extensive training treating individuals with eating disorders, substance abuse difficulties, and those struggling with grief and loss. While in graduate school I minored in health psychology, which enhanced my knowledge in treating eating disorders, substance abuse, and individuals struggling with chronic pain and medical issues. I have also been trained in several therapies including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
My past training and work experience includes working at multiple residential treatment facilities for mental illness, substance use and eating disorders. I have worked within multidisciplinary teams which included psychiatrists, physicians, nutritionists, dietitians, and nurses. I have also worked with patients in outpatient settings both long and short term. I have supervised and provided training and support to peers, colleagues and trainees. In an effort to provide quality of care and the best services to you I regularly participate in consultation and supervision with colleagues.
In an effort to bring best practice for my clients I combine proven and evidenced based modalities in my work. I am passionate and committed to provide healing to people struggling with addiction, mental illness and other ailments. I believe that change is possible for everyone, who wants it. Given my training experience I feel confident helping individuals, families and couples dealing with a variety of difficulties.
